Jai Bolo Telangana - Telugu [2011]

The film is tastefully made and progresses with reflections of Telengana be it with the love story or any other event like AVS portraying an investor. AVS intends to invest a whopping 5000 Crore on a land belonging to a trust and is assured by politicians from Seemandhra that Telengana is but a futile dream.

The story depicts the atrocities of ‘Andhra’ people calling them ‘Manollu’. It has all the usual ingredients of students believing that fructification of Telengana is the only way out of oppression, sale of women and the improper utilization of water bodies.

Inevitably, in spite of all censored dialogues, there are quite a few derogatory and inflammatory dialogues. Shankar culminates the story with the declaration that a separate state could only be achieved if a bill is passed in the parliament and Smriti reiterates that a separate state does not necessarily mean breaking of all ties.

She even has a compliment for her future Andhra daughter in law saying “thousand beautiful flowers look like you. You are an angel.”

Jagapathi Babu gives a heart rendition of his love for Telengana and Shankar has done a fabulous job whether people give him credit or not. Jai Bolo Telengana can be judged as an average flick with more verbal violence than actual that is even more jarring.

KCR’s creativity in music is extremely apparent and consists of tunes that you would hum for quite a while so the film can definitely be admired a work of art.
